So the Stars managed to pull out a 3-1 for their pre-Christmas road trip before heading back home.
Dallas started the scoring just under 3 minutes into the first, when Ribeiro got a puck past Mikka Kiprusoff with assist from the rest of the PBC line, Brenden Morrow and Antti Miettinen. Calgary got 2 points on the board during the 2nd with goals from Alex Tanguay (with assist from Dustin Boyd and Robyn Regehr) and Matthew Lombardi (with assists from Dion Phaneuf and Adrian Aucoin). The Stars tied it up 4 minutes into the 3rd with a goal from Niklas Hagman with assists from Loui Eriksson and Trevor Daley. All it took was less than a minute of overtime for Ribeiro to find the net again, this time from Sergei Zubov.
The Stars were very fun to watch last night. The only bad thing about the game? Mattias Norstrom left with a lower-body injury. Hopefully he is okay and we don’t have to play without him for an extended period of time. Good thing they called up Fistric before the freeze.
The three Stars of the night were:
- Alex Tanguay – 1 goal
- Niklas Hagman – 1 goal
- Dion Phaneuf – 1 assist
Okay, seriously? Mike Rogers from Fan 960 Radio, are you crazy? Mike Ribeiro wasn’t in the top 3 stars WHY? At least the NHL got it right and named him 2nd star of the night.
