Another 1 goal game in Flames favor

As I expected, the game ended up being decided by 1 goal, which gave the Flames the win with a score of 3-2.  Also as I expected Alex Tanguay made a big impact, scoring 2 of their 3 goals.

Tanguay scored 13 minutes into the first.  That led to a pinball effect between the two teams, with Hagman getting the tying goal 16 seconds into the second period.  Mattias Norstrom got his first goal as a Star just under 2 minutes into the third.  His goal, however, was bookended by a short handed goal from Alex Tanguay and an even strengthed goal from Jarome Iginla.

Despite losing, the Stars really did play a good game, just made a few mistakes that really cost them.  Getting closer and closer to the playoffs and playing a team fighting just to get a playoff spot, small mistakes need to be avoided at all costs.

Three stars of the game were

  1. Alex Tanguay
  2. Niklas Hagman
  3. Jarome Iginla
