Favorite Things: Niklas Hagman

We couldn’t have this list without including Crazy Eyes Hagman somewhere in the beginning.  Because, let’s face it, he’s crazy.  When he’s on that ice he looks insane, like he had just escaped from a mental institution, complete with a crooked helmet.  At any moment, he looks like he could fire laser beams out of his eyes.

He had a career year, and was one of the Stars top goalscorers this season.  He also got his first career hattrick, but that’s for another edition.

He is a free agent this summer, so dear Baby Hockey Jesus, please allow the Stars to come to their senses and lock this crazy fucker in.

I love Hagman! For a guy who’s so wild-eyed during the game, he seems so cool and dapper in real life.

  2. Jen Says:

lol I know, he totally doesn’t seem crazy in real life. He’s so quiet.

  3. Caitlin Says:

He’s so bananas, I don’t get it. I mean, he’s just batshit insane when he plays and then in real life…he’s so…Finnish.

(Heh, speaking of, Jarkko Ruutu got interviewed by a Pittsburgh paper the other day and they asked him what he missed about Finland when he’s over here playing for the NHL. His response was something about bread and, of course, SAUNAS.)

  4. Jen Says:

    Crazy Finns and their saunas

  5. Myra Says:

I can’t imagine next season without a Hagman breakaway. Or even worse, seeing him make one on another team. Hagman breakaways are definitely one of my favorite things about hockey. I still don’t understand why his helmet is always cockeyed, though? Please let him resign!

Hagman has to come back to the Stars next year! There is no way they can let him go, and they should have enough money to give him the $2-3 million a year everyone thinks he will be asking.

If he’s not, I’m somehow finding Brett Hull’s house and he’s getting Finnish themed “decorations”
