1-1 isn’t bad!

That’s the Stars record of the last 2 games.

Wednesday, the Stars played the Edmonton Oilers the day after defeating  the Calgary Flames 3-1.  It wasn’t too great of a loss, 5-2.  I can’t say I didn’t expect it, only because even last season when the Stars had back to back games they won one and lost the other.  Mike Modano got the 2 goals for the Stars.  He’s really having a great season, playing like he’s young again.

Then Friday night the Stars were back home against the Avalanche.  The last time the two teams met back in October the Stars fell 5-4.  This time was different.  The game was scoreless until Toby Petersen got the Stars up 1-0 in the second period.  Marty Turco was a-mazing.  Until the last minute, when Svatos got one past Turco after the Avs pulled Budaj.  It remained scoreless through overtime and eventually Mike Modano won the game for the Stars.  It was a fantastic win, and it seems this Avery thing has only brought the team together.  Finally actually playing as a team.  It’s awesome to see, and it’s about time it happened.
