So, with it being Halloween and all I figured I’d use my psychic powers to predict what the Stars players would be for halloween, so I introduce to you

The 2008-09 Dallas Stars Tour, The Big Boys

October 16, 2008

So, this is my first full season as a blogger.  EEK!  So I decided, that since I will be your ‘tour guide’ for this next full season, why not make a post about it?  Now that we have a few games under our belt, here is your tour of the 2008-2009 Dallas Stars

Morrownator and Razor have been brought to you by…

May 7, 2008

So, if you haven’t checked out by now, shame on you.  It is the place to find any info you might need on teams and players.  They just opened up sponsorship of players/teams.  Yours truly has sponsored 2 of the most important people in the Stars Franchise; Brenden Morrow and Daryl “Razor” Reaugh.  I’m sure the reason behind sponsoring Brenden Morrow is obvious, he has been my favorite player for 8 years.  Razor should also be obvious, because he is made of awesome and win.  What will make him even more awesome is if I can ever get a hold of him to get my Whalers jersey signed.

In other sad sad news, Captain Jew has sustained a knee injury and will likely need surgery.  NOOO HALPIEE!!

Quack Quack Quack Part 2

April 12, 2008

Do I really need to say more? Stars goals were as follows:

  • Mike Ribeiro (unassisted)
  • Jere Lehtinen (Stéphane Robidas & Mike Ribeiro)
  • Mike Modano (Mike Ribeiro & Stéphane Robidas)
  • Brad Richards (Loui Eriksson & Joel Lundqvist)
  • Loui Eriksson (Joel Lundqvist & Brad Richards)

Final was 5-2

What to do during the All-Star break…

January 25, 2008

Since most of the Stars team will not be participating in the All-Star game, they have to do something to entertain themselves. What might they be up to? Well, I guess we’ll never know for sure, but I have a few guesses….

Stars take Pacific Division lead

January 20, 2008

The 5-2 win over the Ducks today put the Stars at the top spot of the Pacific Division.  I was fortunate enough to be in attendance and boy was it an amazing game to be at!  (That picture above is from my seats!)

Stéphane Robidas (EEE) got the scoring started a little under 10 minutes into the first with an unassisted power play goal.  If you could hear someone squealing so high only dogs could hear, that would be me and Caitlin.  That 1 goal took the Stars to the 3rd period.   Brenden Morrow made it 2-0 three minutes into the 3rd with a goal from Mike Ribeiro and Matt Niskanen.  And just under 5 minutes later, Hagman made it 3-0 with a shorthanded goal from a nice pass from Barnes and Norstrom.  Mathieu Schneider and the Ducks countered less than a minute later while still on the power play.  Francois Beauchemin and Chris Kunitz got the assists.  Not to be outdone, Morrow scored his second of the night just 13 seconds later, assisted by Ribbons and Mittens.  Ryan Getzlaf cut the Stars lead in half 13 minutes in with a pass from Corey Perry.  Stars however, were not done yet.  The Ducks pulled Giguere with just a little under 3 minutes left which gave Hagman his second goal of the night.

The Stars definitely played a solid game.  I was not fond, however, of Moen hitting Robi and elbowing him in the face.  I was having quite a fit from my seat, good thing he was okay.  The other thing I wasn’t fond of?  The 2 calls that were missed; 60 minutes to Bertuzzi for being a douche and 60 minutes to Pronger for being an ass.

Three Stars of the game were all Stars…

  1. Stéphane Robidas
  2. Brenden Morrow
  3. Niklas Hagman

All well deserved!  Especially Robi!!  Now, read more to find other goodies, including the new people shitlisted.

Dallas Stars Movie: Part One

January 19, 2008

The Stars have just finished practice at the Frisco Stars Center. The players have started changing to get ready to head home and prepare for the game the next day when Tippett walks in angrily.

(Cast list can be found here)

So that’s how it feels, Stars win 4-2.

January 18, 2008

Stars up their streak in the Shark Tank to 6-0 over the last 6 games. That is right boys, you are awesome. A great catalyst for the back to back games this weekend against Columbus and Anaheim (which I will have the pleasure to be at both)

The Stars tally is as follows: Robi with an assist, Modano with 2 goals, Morrownator with an assist, Halpie with a goal, Hagman with a goal and 2 assists, Eriksson with 2 assists, Lundy with an assist and Ribbons with an assist.

The non-enjoyable parts of this game are two: Craig Rivet and Mick McGeough and him hating people like Trevor Daley.

First off, Rivet I will be coming for you on April 6th. The next time you step foot into my city I will know and I will have revenge on what you did to Morrownator.

McGeough, we already know I loathe you more than anything. But seriously, Daley sticking up for his Captain who almost had his face ripped off on glass is not deserving of 17 penalty minutes. You know who deserved 17 penalty minutes? Rivet, and expulsion from the league. The fact that only took 5 minutes for fighting out of that OBVIOUS boarding hit is absolutely absurd.

Some quick notes around the league: Jarome Iginla of the Flames and Vincent Lecavalier of Tampa Bay have been named All-Star Captains. Congrats, I guess

The Shootout is pleased to present: The Dallas Stars Cast

January 16, 2008

Patty made a post over at Penalty Killing with a link to an interview with Brenden Morrow saying he thinks Russell Crowe would play him in a movie. Now Brenden, nothing against Russell Crowe but no. Just no. So I took the liberty of searching IMDB to find a suitable actor to fulfill the greatness that is the Morrownator. I enlisted the help of Caitlin from Hockey Coma, and we found actors for every player on the team, and the list is as follows….
