Halfway through the season…

January 19, 2009

Last season, I did a post showing where everyone was after exactly half a season of play, 41 games.  I did it again this year.  I actually spent about 2 hours getting it all in order last week but kept forgetting to post it.  We’re not a few games past the mid-season point, but whatevs.  Here is what the standings looked like.

Stars fall to Boston 5-1

November 2, 2008

For the 7th time this season, the Stars allowed at least 5 goals.  I don’t even know what to say, to be honest.  You know it’s bad when Mike Modano makes a comment such as:

“Tonight, it was idiotic and stupid,” Stars center Mike Modano said when asked what the team identity was. “It was one of the most embarrassing things I’ve seen. If that’s what we’re going for, then they need to find me an office job.”

146 penalty minutes tonight, the Stars recieving 69 of those.

5-2 Hawks, Stars to take on Boston

November 1, 2008

Young Patrick Kane helped lead the Chicago Blackhawks to a 5-2 win over Dallas.  The Stars played good in the first period, but once they lost their lead, they went back to their old ways.  They started panicing and making stupid mistakes.  The game could’ve been a lot worse, Stephan did a great job keeping their goals at 5.  I was really hoping after their great gameplay Wednesday, they’d play better last night.

Tonight the Stars are in Beantown taking on the Bruins.  They met one time last year, and Dallas got the win 4-1.  The Stars have beaten the Bruins 11 times out of their last 13 meetings.  So I’m crossing my fingers.
